West London
Townhouse

An old and cramped kitchen was entirely overhauled to create an open and sunlit space accessed via new double doors, with floor to ceiling fixed glass and doorways to the rear patio and side garden. The space was extended by 8m2 to suit a kitchen required to be "robust and stylish for another 10+ years."

The cabinetry and integrated appliances were entirely reformatted along the West and South walls, allowing ample space for a large island with overhanging stone to seat a variety of guests and occasions. We fitted underfloor smart radiant heating, liquid screed to 40mm level before painstakingly placing 1500x1500 6mm thin sandstone effect Spanish porcelain tiles to ensure thermal efficiency. Ceilings were torn down and refitted with new fire retardant insulation and sound proofing. Electrics were replaced by a new circuit, with controls for an array of moods, tasks and outdoor lighting.
